The Midnight Hour

Race:  Necromantic
Coach:  James H
Darkness falls across the land
The Midnight Hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorise y'alls' neighbourhood

And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the Hounds of Hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grisly ghouls from every tomb
Are coming your way to seal your doom

And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the Thiller!

Back to the Crypt
After a devastating loss in the final round of the Goblin Tribal Leeg, the Midnight Hour have collectively decided to spend the next season off the pitch.

After the scheduled re-burial ceremonies for their slain players, including the star Good Elf, the team have decided that they have earned some respite.

The Midnight Hour has passed for now, but there is always a certainty that it will return. For night was there before the dawn, and night will be there at the end.

A Turnaround, Perhaps?
Whispers and murmurs of a possible reversal of fortunes for the Midnight Hour have begun after their increasingly improved performance in the last two matches.

Beginning with their draw against the Belconnen Bluetongues, their first non-loss this season, which caused 6 casualties for the undead side, though no recruitment sadly.

This encouraging state of play was further enhanced by the 4-0 drubbing of the Phullagore Ravens, the Ogre team that belted their symbolic sister team, the Dead Ringers, last season in the Grimwaagh Open. This game was marked particularly my the moved of one werewolf in particular, Jackson Price, who scored 3 of the 4 TDs, a casualty and a completion, garnering himself a whopping 12 points! Whispers of him in particular replacing the Star Chaney are unlikely to be accurate, but talent scounts are nevertheless keeping an eye on him.

The real unassuming hero of this team however, is one of the least regarded players in Bllod Bowl. The zombie called simply 'A Good Elf' has proven a realy boon to the team, becoming almost more powerful and reliable than the team Flesh Golems, who have been disappointingly lacking the hoped-for skills and progression this season.

Time will only tell if their improved performance will be enough to sustain them into the finals, or if their hopes at glory are once again dashed.

Zoom Zoom Crunch!
The latest game from pitting evil necromancy against the forces of the dwarves ended in an upset victory that stunned everybody. With two key players and a couple of rogue zombies, it was destined to be a hard match.

The first half opened with a kick deep into the dwarven backfield. the ball was timidly scooped up on the second attempt, only to have it fumbled by his partner. Jackson Price, the star werewolf on the Midnight Hour, capitalised on this early mistake and ran downfield to blitz the catcher that couldn't, his claws tearing through the badly made dwarven armour and almost killing him, if not for the timely intervention of the apothecary. The dwarves managed to get the ball to the halfway line before Speed Demon dazzled them all with a stunning series of leaps and dodges to scoop up the ball and pass it downfield to the waiting Micheal Vincent, who scored the opening TD for the match. The dwarves didn't take this treatment kindly, and proceeded to spend the rest of the first half KOing one player every turn at least and scoring the equaliser.

The second half gave the kick to the undead, who proceeded to then fumble the ball on simple plays and allowed the dwarves to swarm all over them, causing more KOs in their wake. In a desperate attempt to stop the dwarves scoring TD number 2, Thriller punished the dwarven blitzer in his way, sending him to the injury bin with a permanent limp, only to fall over just before he could reach the runner to mark him.

This the match ended 2-1 to the dwarves, with few casualties and the necromantic team's shame following them back to their training crypt.
